Medicare ordering is now live

Medicare pathology ordering has finished rolling out and is now live in production for everyone.

Medicare ordering is generally available​

Since June, Medicare ordering has been rolling out in non-production environments. That rollout is now complete — every organisation can order pathology tests under Medicare in production, on the platform and via the API.

What this means for you​

  • No more waiting. If you'd been holding off, Medicare ordering now works end to end in production. Register a provider number and signature in Settings → Provider Numbers, and you're ready to order.
  • On the platform and via the API. Order Medicare tests through the bundle creator, or via POST /v1/referrals on API v1.1.0+ under a registered provider number.
  • Nothing changes about how it works. The billing-mode toggle, mixed commercial + Medicare orders, per-organisation signatures, and hidden pricing in Medicare mode all behave exactly as before — they're simply available in production now.
